  • This three-dimensional sculpture of a palmetto tree and moon is handcrafted by Charleston artist Fred Moore.  Fred makes the sculpture out of heavy 14 gauge steel, and he treats the steel to give it a rust patina.  Each piece that Fred makes has its own unique level and design of rust.  The piece is great for both indoor and outdoor display.  If displayed outdoors, it will continually rust beautifully in the elements, but naval jelly can be used to remove rust if desired.


  • The palmetto tree is about 11 inches tall and  8.5 inches wide (at its widest point).  It projects from the wall to almost 5 inches. The moon has a diameter of 4.5 inches.  This piece wieghs about  4 pounds.
